Inside New York's Most Expensive Rental

Fifth Avenue, Central Park views, and the Astor moniker all conjure dollar signs, but to the tune of $165,000 a month? That's what you'll have to shell out for the Astor Suite at The Plaza Hotel, which is now the city's most expensive rental. The stunning 5,087-square foot property features English oak paneling, 14-foot ceilings, as well as leather walls imported from France.

Couldn't you just imagine living here? (Imagine being the operative word!)

Tiffany Tips- Holiday Hints For The Heart

Taken from www.whatmakeslovetrue.com

So sweet, such a beautiful idea xx

1
Always have a New Year’s plan.
Not necessarily an elaborate one.
But a place to be together on a very romantic evening.

2
Rediscover your holiday childhood together.
Cocoa in the park.
Ice skating.
Tree lighting.
Cookie baking.

3
Holiday crowds fire romance.
Funny how it works.
There you are alone together in a crowd feeling closer than ever before.

Whispering wonderful words.
Totally enraptured with one another.

4
Families have different holiday traditions.
Sometimes really different.
Don’t let this bother you.

Just celebrate the universal joy of the season.

5
Go dancing!
Even if you don’t know the steps.
Dance to music on the radio.
Dance to music on the streets.
Dance slow in the snow.

6
Find a quiet time and place.
Where you can escape the holiday hullabaloo for a while.
And just be alone with each other.

Discover giving back, together.
Volunteering to help others is such an important part of the holiday spirit.
And sharing your passion for helping people less fortunate can be a wonderful bonding experience.

8
Everyone has a loony relative.
Especially at holiday time.
An aunt with embarrassing questions. An uncle who’s had one too many.
A cousin who talks about your former lover.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

9
Love seats work.
It’s like magic.
Sitting very close together on a tiny couch in a room full of holiday decorations and music is truly romantic.

Tiffany- Some Holidays are Unforgettable

If you wish to escape the ordinary and get swept away in a world of opulence Tiffany is a good place to start. Their 2011 holiday campaign titled 'Some Holidays are Unforgettable' has been brilliantly executed and features the gorgeous Laetitia Casta and Lee Pace.

Tiffany don't just sell jewellery- they sell romance and the concept of the ultimate proposal. This is evident in the lack of jewellery in their advertising and their secondary website dedicated to the concept of 'what makes love true'. Shot by Peter Lindbergh in New York City, the location plays as much of a role as the little blue box and the resulting imagery is just whimsical.

The below image is currently on my fridge at home and takes my breath away every time I look at it. I stood in that exact place when I visited NYC on my honeymoon and looking at it brings back such beautiful memories. Advertising at it's finest.

The heart of the home

Years ago I spotted this image in a copy of Grazia Magazine and I immediately tore it out for future reference. Being a cooking nut I am slightly obsessed with kitchens, they evoke so many memories and really are the heart of the home. When I stand in my parents kitchen and reflect I am always comforted, reminded of a happy childhood playing in the Tupperware cupboard, watching my dad make pancakes and my mum teaching me to cook, Christmas lunches, games of cards and now celebrating my engagement over glasses of wine while we talk about the future. This kitchen was designed by Chris Barrett (you can visit her website here) and got me thinking about my dream kitchen in my dream home. These images reflect those dreams.

Christmas in NYC

A magical time in a magical city......
